Find expenses by who paid and who shared the cost

Find the expenses you're looking for

Who covered dinner on your trip? Which household bills did you share with your roommate? When a group has months of expenses, scrolling through the whole list isn't the easiest way to find out.

You can now filter expenses by Paid by and Owed by. Choose the people you care about, and the list narrows down to matching expenses.

Two ways to filter by person

Paid by finds expenses where someone contributed to the payment. Use it to review the purchases you covered, or find the hotel and meals a friend paid for.

Owed by finds expenses where someone has a share of the cost. This includes expenses that have already been settled, so you can review what you shared even after everyone has paid each other back.

For example, select yourself under Paid by and Nick under Owed by to find expenses you paid for that included Nick. It's a quick way to check your shared costs without sorting through everyone else's purchases.

You can select more than one person in either column. Selecting Nick and Felicia under Paid by finds expenses paid by either of them. If you also choose someone under Owed by, the expense must match that column too.

Add a date range to focus on a trip or a month of bills, or search for a description to find something specific. The filters work together, and you can clear them whenever you want to see the full list again.

How to use the new filters

  1. Open an expense list, such as your group's expenses.
  2. Open Filters beside the search field.
  3. Choose people under Paid by, Owed by, or both.
  4. Select Apply to see matching expenses.

People filters are part of Premium, alongside date filtering and expense search. They're useful for reviewing shared costs, checking who covered what, and finding an old expense without endless scrolling.

Try the new expense filters in your next group or roommate expense review.
